Why can't I receive group chat messages?

I have an HTC m8 running windows 8.1 on net10, for some reason I can't receive any group chat messages. I can send group messages just fine and pictures work both sending and receiving, the only problem is I don't receive any group messages sent to me. I've spent several hours researching with no results so any tips or ideas would be much appreciated.
