Is there a fix for HTC M8 Windows overheating problems?

Windows Central Question

I purchased a HTC M8 (Windows version) in Jan 2015. Since then,,,Verizon has replaced the phone twice for overheating issues. I call HTC,,,they were no help at all.

Has this cause of this problem been identified? Have users considered legal action against HTC?
