Why can't I add my IP manually?

why i can't add my IP manually?

when i connect a wifi network show wifi network is connected but limited connectivity coz IP address not found and i can't found any option to putting IP address .My mobile Model Lumia 640xl(windows-10 latest version).Please help me.....

There is no way to manually add an IP Address in Windows Phones and the current version of Windows 10 Mobile.

There is an option to set static IP globally not by SSID in windows phones.But it has to be enabled by oem. I did make a single registry tweak for Wi-Fi in my Lumia 520 from 0 to 1 and viola static option is visible and works as expected but not as good as in android which on typing IP address would automatically try to get its gateway and other settings.

Messing with the Registry (and other OEM-enable-able features) is not everybody's game.

Had similar case, had to change IP manually using proxy or even VPN
