My new surface Pro 4 wont start or wake after sleep mode

I closed the cover (keyboard around 3 hours ago and it wont start. I have plugged in the power and was getting the keyboard to light up. I held the power button down to try and get the machine to turn off so I could restart but now the keyboard won't even light up
