Sim error Lumia 1320

As off last night my lumia 1320 started giving me the following error message - "The SIM card is missing or invalid . You can still make emergency calls if your mobile operator supports this. What could the cause of this error be?

Hi and welcome to WindowsCentral.

Have you tried removing your SIM and cleaning its contacts with a pencil eraser prior to reinserting it?

Does your SIM work in another phone?

You might need a new SIM from your carrier.
