Default network printer randomly defaults to the adobe PDF printer. Is there a fix?

Windows Central Question

Default network printer randomly defaults to the adobe PDF printer.

I have the option "let Windows manage my default printer" turned off. At times the default network printer switches to the Adobe PDF as the default. Several of my colleagues also experiencing the same issue. Has anyone seen this fix?
