Lord of the Rings Battle For Middle Earth is not working on Windows 10, Why is this?

I have the CD version of LOTR BFME2 and I installed it, but when I go to play it, the loading screen goes but then stops responding and I get an error message, ive tried running it as administrator and ive tried compatability setting but it does the same thing, why cant I play lotr bfme2 on windows 10?
