How to change the in app sound in messaging?

I know that you can change the toast notification sound in settings. But how to change the sound while inside the app? If I open the app and go to the settings, there is nothing in there with regards to the sound while in the midst of texting.

It plays a sound that irritates/scares my dog and I don't want to have to mute my entire phone just in case I get a text response while in the app.

NOTE: The toast notification is NOT the issue. There is a different sound that plays on the toast than in app.

If an APP makes a notification sound but there is no option under its settings then you can assume it uses its hardwired default sound. After it makes its 1st notification sound then you can go to WP SETTINGS>>PERSONALIZATION>>SOUNDS and scroll find that APP change its default sound to something else.
