new lumia 635 wants microsoft acct does that affect skype on my pc

my Skype pc acct has a simple password to set up a Microsoft acct for my windows phone will require a much longer and more detailed password. I'm worried that once I set up the new Microsoft acct that Skype on my pc will no longer work

I've never tried myself, but I'd try using the Skype account on the phone first. If it doesn't work, then create a new Microsoft account as it will be completely separate and won't bother your PC.
