Windows Central Question

The Blue Screen warning had a number to call. I was desperate, so I called. Was the blue screen a set-up by hackers? I was connected to a Berkley Tech company that charged me $200 to install malware etc. This took 2 hrs. I hope I didn't just give all my personal data to thieves...?

Oh dear.

Depending on what you did, I can't tell what exactly transpired from your wording, but you've been taken for a ride and should take action.

1. The error was a scam. the number was to scammers, if you spent that $200, you are likely out $200.

Nuke relevant credit cards, etc. Might want to consider whatever data was on that PC compromised as well.

And get your computer cleaned by someone reputable whether a shop or a friend, not a random phone number online.
