How can I get the radio to mute when I get navigation prompts?

I'm told that when Navigation prompts come on, the radio is turned down, but I can't tell if that really is true. I'd much rather just listen to the prompt when it's time to get prompted.

When hooked up to bluetooth on your car, it should just cut in and stop the radio to give the prompt.
