if I reset my nokia lumina so my sd card will work, will I lose my phone contacts

my phone will not recognize my 32 sd card, was told to reset and it will work

You must check first if your Lumia device is compatible with 32GB cards - some older ones are not.

Then, if you have your phone contacts synchronized and backed up to your Microsoft account, then you should be able to restore them back after resetting your phone - since resetting your phone will erase everything from it (including contacts). To check this, login to your people.live.com account and see if your contacts are listed there.
