Why is my hp pavilion notebook's battery drains so fast after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10?

My laptop also heats up very much after the upgrade and I cannot adjust my brightness too.

My laptop also heats up very much after the upgrade and I cannot adjust my brightness too.

After the upgrade a lot of apps might be updating automatically in the background and perhaps there's an update for the OS as well that is downloading and installing.

Go to settings > privacy > background apps and disable those that you don't need
