Laptop stuck on Windows 10 login screen

[Windows Central Question]

After powering the laptop on it gets to the login in screen asking to enter password, but you cant type anything in the box. The cursor moves around the screen but wont let you select anything. I've tried ctrl+alt+del which doesn't work, nor do the icons in the bottom right corner work. I've tried a hard reboot and shift+F8 but this does nothing either. Help please!!!

Could you provide some more information? What kind of laptop are you using? What model? Have you been able to log in previously?
