Cannot access computer w/o crashing

My computer has been crashing on and off since I upgraded. It would usually start working after a few crashes and I didn't have time to figure out what was wrong at the time. We'll now I can't even get onto the computer without it crashing.

The error is listed as thread_stuck_in_device_driver

I see that the fix is to do a clean driver install but I can't even get onto the computer.

Any suggestions or am I just going to have to reset to factory settings and take the hit on lost files cause I'm dumb and didn't back it up as soon as there were issues?

Can you F8 into safe mode?
If you can get to safe boot I'd try msconfig in the run box then choose selective start to see how far into boot you go before the no start condition.
