lumia 950 xl and T-Mobile band 12 - band 700

My phone: Lumia 950XL.
I just got off the phone with T-Mobile tech support and they tell me my phone doesn't support band 12 which is the 700 band that breaks through concrete. Anyone have this phone with good T-Mobile LTE service. I found that my phone does have band12 by typing ##3282# on my phone dialer then sending the call. It shows this band in a long list of other bands. The band is also check marked showing that it's active.

T-Mobile requires that the phone be certified for VoLTE on their network to use Band 12. This is due to there being areas that that only have Band 12 service and thus you wouldn't be able to make phone calls with the phone. Microsoft doesn't care about the Lumia phones and didn't bother to get it certified. One could argue T-Mobile should make it cheaper/easier, but either way, Microsoft chose not to. Maybe they will change their minds going forward, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
