will the Microsoft dt-904 wireless charging plate work on my Microsoft lumia 535 phone?

The 535 does not have Qi charging built in... So, no, not right out of the box.

However, you could buy a Qi receiver pad on Amazon that will plug into the microUSB and then may be folded to fit under a case and provide charging from any Qi Pad such as DT-904.
