Whatsapp crashing on startup on Nokia Lumia 800

[Windows Central Question]

not able to run whatsapp.
app crashes without touching...
Application reinstalled. switched phone on and off: No effect.
Still crashing. All other apps on phone are working correctly.
system is windows 7.5. ( not upgradable anymore)
All tips are welcome.

I got the same problem since today/yesterday.
Updated Whatsapp on 05/20/2016 and I could not start the app anymore.
Restarted, Reinstalled and nothing happened.
Reset my entire Lumia 800 and re-installed only whatsapp - same problem. Freezing during startup.
Really hope, that this will get fixed soon!

Well i readed that support for windows phone 7.1 will end at the end of 2016. We are now around middle of 2016 so it should still work.

ive sended mail to whatsapp support asking about that issue. I just hope that its just a broken update not end of all support for lumia 800.

Fix is here! Just update your Whatsapp from marketplace and it will work again.

I can confirm that it works again. Although I still get a message that notifications and connection is not working correctly.
