do you send voice popups about a virus to a persons computer

i wanted to look at my bankstatement and a voicepopup came up from supp. microsoft edge and i should call this # 855.617.6434 and give the computer # that they gave me because i have a virus and they would walk me thru on how to remove it

This is a fan based News and Discussion site. It is in no way run by Microsoft, Lumia or any developer.

This sort of contact is ALWAYS a scam. Microsoft never contacts you to tell you about a virus by popup, phone call, email, etc. Never reply to these contacts. They are waiting to remote into your computer, hold it hostage and scare you into paying. They will attempt to steal as much information as they can to perpetrate identity theft and if you give a payment method they will quickly drain your account or exhaust available credit on your card.
