Why are people hardly able to hear me when I am on a call?

the person I am calling can hardly hear me.

when making a call the person I am phoning notices a drop in volume from my phone.

while making the call, press the volume up button until the earpiece volume is at maximum
Also, maybe the cellular network coverage in your area is bad
