PC Downloading Updates Slowly

No background apps are running. Dropbox, OneDrive etc. all closed/exited. No other pc is connected. 2gb download speed. yet it takes a whole day to download updates (insider updates, downloading 10586, new PC)
do I need to reset the pc? or could it be another issue?
any ideas/solutions?

*as of writing this its 1137am (-4gmt) I'm at 1%.
will edit in a few hours to depict what % I'm at and how much time has gone by. this can not be right.*

What do you mean with "2GB download speed" ??? Have you got a tool like networkx enabled, showing instant web rate?

351pm 90% isn't that completely too long?
1148pm....updates failed to install

restart your pc and try again
There has been a store issue with app updates but I haven't read about OS updates taking a long time
