Is Microsoft neglecting Windows 8.1 platform?!! & I own Lumia 720 which never gets new windows 10 update. Now what should I do?!! I spent fully 16990/- Indian Rupees for this phone!!!

Windows Phone 8.1 is dead. The 720 is over three years old. Not sure when you bought your phone but you probably should get something newer.

If you want to have Windows 10 you can join the Insider Program though I'm not sure how good it is on the L720.

it cannot run windows 10 properly since the RAM is too low. You can continue using it as it is or sell it and get a new phone that is windows 10 mobile upgradable like the 640 or get the new 650

MS isn't even putting a sizeable effort into 10, let alone 8.1.
Sorry but you're on your own now. What happened is unfortunate but right now it seems the only way to get a respectable amount of support is go iPhone or Nexus + custom ROMs after a couple years.

They can neglect users because they're Microsoft. Eventually this strategy will come back to haunt them.
Microsoft is all but certain to have nothing for 8.1 in development. Save for a couple app updates, it's likely it's a slow downhill run from here.

It's been more than a year gap between 8.1 and 10. Any all 8.1 devices used to be on 8. So that's even longer
A few models running 8.1 were able to get officially the upgrade -the 1520, 930, 640, 730, 830 etc. It is unfortunate that the majority of devices that couldn't upgrade were the ones that had 512MB ram but windows 10 mobile couldn't adequately run on them

Windows 10 is full of bugs.. You would curse yourself for upgrading.. I went back to 8.1 after 4 months. 10 is slow as hell, frequent almost hourly crashes.. Being on 8/8.1 at least helps having a lag free, hang free, easy to use phone.. Even the fonts are too small in W10M
