I added an SD card to my Lumia 950xl.

Once the SD card was added I managed to clear my device storage memory. However Whatsapp has suddenly decided to stop working. I uninstalled it and reinstalled but can no longer access my messages. Every time there's a message I try accessing it and it goes blank. I read that this could be related to the SD card as Whatsapp prefers phone memory. Please help. Thank you.

so move it back to internal storage?

Whatsapp doesn't like being on external storage.
It allows you to move it however it won't work correctly.
