cortana 'remind' greyed out

Cortana is set up with speech etc. I went to set a reminder by typing in the information, filled out the required fields , and it will not allow me to select the 'remind' option, this is grey. how do I change this to allow me to input by typing ?

This would be on pc or phone? Isn't reminders related to calendar? So have you signed in to calendar?
