Windows Central Question

I have a surface pro 4. I downloaded the windows 10 anniversary update and hit restart. I have had a black screen with swirling dots for 3 and 1/2 hours now. Any suggestions would be great.

I have the same on a desktop, AM1 motherboard with a 8400 nvidia card; been 1h with black screen and dots.

Was a Win10 TH2 very minimal and clean system.

give it a few more hours, say 12 total. If nothing happens, force a restart

did reset twice and it reverted back to win10 TH2; it didn't have any hdd activity while in black screen.

I retried then to update via usb but same problem (was via windows update at first), reboot twice and it reverted back.

I'm going to block the update with the Microsoft tool until a solution is found or microsoft fixes the issue ==> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

edit: now the 1607 update doesn't appear anymore in windows update so cannot block it; i've checked the box "differ updates" in windows update advanced options and will try again later

After rollback the setup give me this error => Error 0xC1900101 – 0x40017 ; windows update is not the problem same using iso.

It is a know problem that appeared also when updating 8.0 ==>8.1 check that post : http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...-windows/8c893ae6-0e9b-4b7d-a647-b9065099efd6

Actually retrying , i updated bios, removed nvidia cards, uninstalled eveything security related and nvidia drivers, unpluged Logitech wireless receiver, disabled network and sound in bios and also removed the latest RAM modules leaving only one.

Will update in a few hours (1go RAM and old disk)

EDIT: Update worked, reactivated everything put ram back ect... memory corruption issues it seems just disable as much as i did and it should be ok
