Windows 10 AU Install Problems

Tried twice yesterday to install the anniversary update. They both start off ok. But I just end with a black screen, with white spinning dots. For more than an hour. Could it be more Antivirus is causing the problem. I use AVG. Do I need to uninstall that, before proceeding with the update.

You could try uninstalling it; however, if that doesn't work I would reset your pc (there is an option to keep your files) then try updating it again. Also this tool made by Microsoft may help as it scans to make sure your pc can update http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=821403

I used the MS app for the second attempt. Said my pc was fine. And Windows Insider for the first.Thanks anyway I'll give it a try.I'll probably do a new backup, over the weekend. Before having another attempt.
