Camera not working or even on a device list on new Surface Pro4

you mentioned that your device is new; have you checked for OS and firmware updates? And if after updates the camera is still not visible, can you send it back for checking?

Yep here. Camera just shows black screen with no buttons icons. The app was updated on the 6th and we've had two cumulative updates for Win 10 since then so I don't know which of these has screwed it. Not sure if this is your problem, as for the app being hidden, just search for camera then pin it once it shows in search.

I have the exact same problem. Brand new Surface Pro 4 received today. Camera not found and I get this error code 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5

I made it work by uninstalling the driver from the device manager, then scanning new hardware in the device manager.
