Why don't Microsoft add a longer exposure time for lumia 950 like the lg g4 for example.

I don't think this is limited by hardware since the lumia camera seems better.It could be a nice option if you want to take pictures of night sky or a lighting storm.

the 4s seems the limit they have set for good cameras and 1s as the limit for average cameras. How much does the g4 have?

It has a 30 seconds exposure time which is awesome if you wanna take photos of things like thunderstorms, night sky, aurora borealus, and i think you can find other cool things .
