I pluged in a usb hard drive but can't find it. Where do I look?

I am unable to find the hard drive on my computer. I looked in file explorer but it is not there.

Is it formatted? Go into Disk Management and see what it sees.

Also under Device Manager you should see it appear under drives when you plug it in.

have you tried a different port? And you're plugging it directly to the USB port and not through a hub, right?
