How to fix the app thing being full screened on windows 10

im doing stuff with a friend and he goes back to his desktop and it is now on the fullscreen app thing and we dont know how to make it go back to the desktop. help

I'm assuming it's a store app. Move your mouse to topmost right hand corner of your screen. You will find a button there to take it off full screen.

If it's not a store app, there might be a setting somewhere in the application to use windowed mode.

press both windows and "e" key to take to file explorer or windows + d key to go to desktop
