why does my phone freeze? why cant i use my glance screen

I have the Nokia Lumia 1520 and I've asked this and explained it already but the solution didn't work. If I change things in my setting, like turn things on or off that weren't already off, my phone will freeze. Like my glance screen, I can't use it because my phone freezes if I do. Also at random times my phone just freezes while it's locked and I have to restart it to get it to work again but it still happens after that. Someone told me to turn my data off and take Cortana off my screen and see if it worked, but it didn't. Can someone please help? I might just reset my phone because that seems like it will work. Thank you

Back things up and hard reset the phone. Something strange is going on and starting over will be the only way to clear it up if it's software related.
