Microsoft Band Cortana Error

The error message states check bluetooth is on and make sure your phone is close. I've checked all the suggested settings and they appear to be correct. It does go through the stages of listening...thinking...just a sec.....Thanks for any suggestions!

try a restart of both devices and maybe pair them again
