How long does Backup assistant Plus take to restore contacts?

I used Backup assistant on my Nokia 822 before I had to do a factory reset on the phone. I have updated the Backup Assistant app and it claims it is restoring my contacts but an hour later I don't see any. It also tells me it can't restore my SMS messages. Is there anything that can be done to make that work?

is this an app you downloaded? can you contact the developer for more assistance? And what os is your phone on?
