my phone shows charging signal but doesnot gains charge.

sometime it gains charge but some time it doesn't .I have been using data cable connecting to my laptop for charging phone ,is that the cause of my problem.

Try another usb port or another cable. if touching the usb phone plug your hear the disconneting / connecting sound on laptop, that could be a faulty cable or damaged phone port

the problem is that you're charging from a laptop. Use the original wall charger, that will always give you faster speeds than a computer. A computer can only give 0.5A of current from a USB port for charging while most low budget phones need 0.85A or higher while good phones like the 950 or 1020 need at least 1.5A to charge effectively -hence you should use the wall charger
