Both apps open, but never loads the images.
The retry loading icon appears after sometime.
Tried reinstalling and moving to phone.

I am connected to a 1Mbps WiFi network.

Sounds like all apps are tryin syncing a lot of data all togheter, you shoul let them opened for 5 / 10 mins

Will try that. but I don't think there is any network activity going on.
Twitter, whatsapp and all the other apps are working properly.

In Instagram and 6tag, I am able to see new posts, likes, comments. But the image never loads.

your connection is pretty slow - any chance you're in Kenya?

ISP was the culprit.
Everything is fine now.

I am from south India.
We dont have much choice here for broadband.
Asianet and BSNL are the two major players in my state (Kerala).
I could have opted for a higher bandwidth plan. I can afford it, BUT it comes with FUP.

I am using Asianet which has good ping/connectivity/stability for gaming.
I hate FUP. So I went with 1Mbps no FUP plan.
Imagine having to step down to 512kbps after using 20Mbps -_-

In other states (Eg. Bangalore), there are more private broadband providers, ACT, Spectranet etc which provide high bandwidth at cheap rate through fiber.

They are looting us.

One of the disadvantages of living in a developing country :P

when you say 1Mbps, that means megabits, right? Not megabytes?

I'm in Kenya and I live in the city so at least we have a major ISP in our area - they charge 45USD per month for a 15Mbps connection, no limits. I can pay 25USD for a 1Mbps connection but why do that?

If you had read my post, you would have understood.
Here we don't have non FUP high speed plans.

I did, jus commenting on my experience. Most of the time I keep the connection off and go to a nearby coffeehouse instead for heavy downloads -just buy a drink or a dish and use wifi the whle day - I can easily download 10GB of updates, videos, software etc in that one sitting
