Is the media creation tool kept current?

I can't get the anti-freezing update (kb) on 10 au on a fresh install before it crashes.
Additionally, the updates I do get all fail.
I am making another copy of the media creation tool with the hopes that somebody (anybody) was smart enough to include updates and fixes in the image download.

I want to know if I am expecting too much- am I just making a copy of AU-RTM from a month ago?

Part of the install the media creation tool and all windows 10 installs do is download all updates and apply as part of the base install. No more install OS followed by a million updates.
