Unable to install Whatsapp on my lumia 640xl

[Windows Central Question]

I am using Lumia 640xl dual sim and have the latest preview build 10.0.14915.1000. I had received update notification for whatsapp two days back & tried to update but didnt succeed. So I thought of uninstalling and do a fresh install but to my horror I am just not able to install it back again after repeated attempts. Except for a hard reset I have tried all options but problem persists. Worst part is, I am able to update/install all other apps from the store!!! Please help to resolve this issue!!

did you try installing to local storage?

Yes, I know Whatsapp can only be installed on the local storage & not on the SD.

But any idea why this is happening only while installing WhatsApp? As I have informed in my original post I am able to update, install/reinstall other apps from the store!!

maybe whatsapp haven't changed their app code to work with the new redstone 2 builds - at this point I am just speculating. I don't have redstone 2 installed, the risks are high at this point in time as you can see

Okay, I have written to WhatsApp support but they are yet to come back with a reply despite me sending couple of reminders. I also searched the net but no proper information is available. Looks like I am the only guy in the universe with this kind of problem )
