Windows Central Question

I updated to Windows 10 a little bit ago on an older Dell Inspiron laptop. I regularly use the laptop for picture editing. Since updating about every 30 seconds the desktop and task bar will go black, then reload. It shuts down any files I have open, which is super annoying when I'm trying to move pictures from my camera card to my external hard drive. And, actually, when I try to move pictures, as of today it's shutting down almost immediately.

A techy friend thought it was a virus and had me download MalwareBytes. (We used Bullguard for antivirus protection). Malwarebytes found some malicious files, and I deleted all of them. But, the problem is continuing. What do I do next? I am so frustrated by this problem.

I did a quick search of the forum for this question and didn't see it on another thread.

That's happens when explorer (the name the whole desktop is called in system) crashes. It happenes in case of files / disk corruption or a malware

Scan usb devices too with antivirus
Then make a complete checkdisk of your disk and external devices

try running a sfc scan to see if the OS has an issue
Also update your OS if there are any updates pending
