What happened to my sticky notes?

After a recent update my sticky notes disappeared from my desktop and the menu at the bottom of my page. They're just GONE! I had some important information on several notes and I need to retrieve them if possible. When I look in the program file I don't see it, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Can someone help?

Open start menu and type in "sticky notes".. before you finish typing there should be a few results
