Properties selection for drive crashes browser window

[Windows Central Question]

All my hard drives are tested as having no errors in "scan disk", but when attempting to make new folder and "renaming it", or when attempting to do a "properties" on any of my disks ... both cause the windows browser window to crash, and disappear.

check for OS updates and also do a sfc scan to see if the OS has any issues
