Windows Central Question

When booting up my 102 show the message "Not for Resale" beneath the Windows logo. When fully booted the device stays in Airplane mode and can not connect to a network or wifi. Most apps will not open either. Using settings I tried the factory reset option, but the message appears that this is not possible at the moment. The battery will not charge either in this mode, the powerplug icon keeps blinking. This also means the Windows Device Recovery Tool is not able to do a new install since the battery level is too low. Anyone ideas or tips? I have used the device for 3+ years now, would be great if I can revive it.

You need to get the phone into the boot loader by doing a soft reset and holding the volume up button as it vibrates (or just before as it varies from model to model) it also may take a few tries.

Hold the volume up button until you see the big nokia logo ontop of the screen when it goes red / burgundy. In order to avoid possible complications use the usb cable that came with your 1020 (if possible) as that is factory cable. Once in the bootloader mode, you can charge you phone.
