Did you tried cleaning ports with alcol and dryin them with cold air? Do it after swithcin down and removing battery

How can you be so sure that your usb port has failed? Your battery could be at fault too. Have you checked whether your PC or lap can detect your lumia?

You can go ahead for a visit to Nokia care and let them inspect the device. Further only they can give you exact amount that might be charged for the servicing.
