internet drops then reconnects -

all other laptops never drop. router is fine and so is ISP. just my machine. this happened after hour long update from microsoft about 12 days ago. was solid connection for the previous year. thinking the update inadvertently changed a setting. will drop for a few seconds then reconnect. stay connected for 20 mins then drop and reconnect.

Hi ! I suggest you see if there is a updated driver for your adapter. You can try this in devise manager! You can also search your manufacture for a updated driver.
In Device Manager window, expand categories and locate the device that you wish to update the driver for. For instance, if you used Driver Easy to download ?Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller?, find this device under ?Network adapters? category. Then right-click on the device name and select Update Driver Software
