OneNote not syncing !

I have a windows laptop with pre-installed OneNote, and a windows phone. Everything I write in OneNote on laptop doesn't appear on the phone, and vise versa. I keep clicking SYNC all the time, but it doesn't do the trick. I have no idea how to fix this.
Syncing worked just fine for the last few months.

This is also the case for me. I have a lot of notes for work on my onenote. Notes sync fine between pc, surface pro 3 and my galaxy s6. My 950 however will not sync. It seems I have 2/3 of the notes but am missing a lot. The sync icon is always on. There is no way from keeping the screen from timing out (5min max), so as a suggestion on another forum of leaving it on onenote on overnight while plugged in is also not working. When the screen shuts off, onenote will just say "the last attempt to sync was cancelled. We'll try again later". This is very frustrating.

I am running the preview release, does anyone know if production build or any insider builds fix this issue?
