How do I get my phone past the gears?

My phone has been stuck on the gears for several hours, I'm starting to get worried because my phone died a couple times and I fear this interrupted the factory reset. Will my phone be fine or should I be worried?

Hi and welcome to windows central forum.

Did you charge your phone prior to hard reset? maybe your battery ran down adn a shut down interrupted the hard reset.

If you are unable to restart teh process or the device displays some emotion like a sad face you should them turn to Windows Device Recover Tool (W.D.R.T.) DOWNLOAD IT FROM HERE:> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/products/mobile-devices

Install the app and connect your device, the installer will then download the installation files and flash your device to a working state.
