No whatsapp notifications after latest update

I got an update last week and now the OS build says 10.0.14393.21. The problem I have is that my whatsapp messages are getting updated only after I open the app. I do not get any notifications even. Any body else facing this issue or have I flipped something by mistake.

reinstall the application, the OS build must be 14393.321 please check again and report back.

1. Check whether WhatsApp is allowed in background and managed by windows itself.
2. If 1st suggestion is not worked try soft reset.
( go to setting and in search box type "background"then click recommended option)
