Goggle permission

phone says to continue using goggle on phone need to give goggle phone permission to access your account. Is this a scam?

Had to give permission for Windows to use Google to sync calendar and email on my 950 XL from my Google account on my work phone which is a Note 4.
Not sure if this is what you're asking.
Also had to give Google permission for access to YouTube when I sign into Metrotube on my 950 XL.
