java update kills my computer. must restart. is this normal?

when there is a java update going, my computer is useless. frustration sets in and I turn it off and restart. seems fine then.
what is going on

Hi Welcome to Windows Central! I suggest you uninstall Java. If you have a program that needs it, it will alert you and then you can reinstall it. You can see that I do not have Java installed. The main reason is I don't need it. The other reason it's a magnet for malware. If you need it, please keep it updated!:wink:
