Why is my mouse not able to click anything on the bottom of the screen?

I can use the pointer on my mouse and click to open any icon on my screen. Although I can move the pointer directly over the speaker volume icon, say, or the battery life icon, when I click on them nothing happens. I can't click on anything in that bottom bar. I can't click on the Windows icon to access that menu. What's up?

What kind of mouse are you using? Try updating the driver in disk management!
