Is there a way of wiping a Surface 3 hard drive when screen is broken?

Hi... Tragedy struck my Surface 3 sceen the other day. Somehow the touch pen got wedged between the keyboard and screen and pressure caused the screen to break ... What an eejit! Good news is that Msoft will exchange the tablet, like-for-like, for a fee (half the cost of fixing the screen here in the UK). Is there a way, please, of deleting the hard drive, before I send it off, when the graphics are non-existent?? PS I'm not the most proficient at tech stuff. Sorry if this thread is a repeat of many before but my search came up with zilch

There is a mini display port on the S3. You should be able to connect an external monitor and operate that way. Good luck!
